We now have over 2,000 brochures out and about in the county with more to follow for events such as the Fringe Music Festival in a couple of weeks and we've been very kindly given a shop window courtesy of Open House which is great and means that even more people will find out about the Festival.
Whenever you do something for the first time there's always glitches and I seem to be running into technology glitches all over the place. The latest one that a listing site decided it didn't like me copying text into it and would publish all the computer code which was (unbeknownst to me) included in the original document. So everything had to be re-input. On the re-input I realised though that we do have a great programme of theatre with something for everyone. I'm expecting the next couple of weeks to pick up even more pace as this little ball which I started rolling a few motnhs ago turns into a giant snowball rolling down towards the 6th and 7th of September. Exciting, and a little bit, nervy times!!

So, it's count-down time – just 11 days to go before the first-ever Stroud City Festival begins, and just 11 days before my first talk: Dear Tim – echoes of Death Row on Friday September 6, in the Alehouse – 8.30. In a nutshell, it's about my visit to my penpal on Death Row in America, and how that visit turned my retirement away from slippers and gardening. There have been some shocking, also some wonderful, developments in the Dear Tim story. Hear more, The Alehouse on Friday, and the George Room of the Subscription Rooms on Saturday, September 7 – 9pm.
